Introduction to the seminar
This presentation will screen the video work "Grinding_tw" and introduce its multi-screen device concept, similar to "Gold Farm".
At the same time, the artist will share his research direction during his residency in Luodong, Yilan, exploring how he extends this digital archaeology perspective to the observation and analysis of local military remnants and urban graffiti landscapes in Yilan. When historical relics become infinitely generated "copy" images, what we see on the canvas—is it the embers of the past, or the endless cycle of labor in a game engine?
This sharing session will feature a screening of the video work Grinding_tw and introduce its multi-screen installation concept, which mimics the aesthetic of a "gold farming rig."
Simultaneously, the artist will share his research direction during his residency in Luodong, Yilan, exploring how to extend this digital archaeology perspective to the observation and mapping of local military shadows and urban graffiti landscapes. When historical remains are transformed into infinitely generated "instances," are we witnessing the embers of the past or an endless cycle of labor within a game engine?
