Coming Soon: Total View: Sensing Sinicization

From 14 November to 5 December 2026, Hyper Wave Taipei Space presents Total View: Sensing Sinicization, an exhibition by the media art and research group Total View.

In the People’s Republic of China, “Sinicization” refers to policies aimed at erasing the cultural differences and historical traditions of ethnic, linguistic and religious minorities in the name of ethnic unity. The exhibition brings together three investigative projects that trace its contemporary forms: street-view images analysed with software borrowed from self-driving cars, the pomegranate as a manufactured symbol of ethnic unity in Quyang’s Pomegranates, and commercial samples from trade fairs and online platforms in Sample Room.

Founded in 2024, Total View brings together artists, researchers and journalists to develop new forms of investigative practice.
