Bety Krňanská
Czech Republic
Residency period
9/3/25
10/30/25
Meet Factory x Hyper Wave
Bety Kranská (1992) is a Czech artist based in Athens, Greece, working at the intersection of painting, textile craft, and technology.
Her practice explores female representation, bodily autonomy, and the evolving relationship between desire and digital culture.
Combining traditional techniques like patchwork, crocheting, batik and traditional painting with Al generated imagery, she examines the tension between seduction and automation, the handmade and the synthetic.
Residency plan
In the project How Soon Is Now?, she will use traditional Taiwanese textiles to create patchwork compositions and combine them with Al-generated images that represent
contemporary views on Taiwanese women. These textile-based pieces will serve as backgrounds for her paintings. This fusion of old and new will allow her to explore the tension between the digital and the tactile, creating a dialogue on gender, labor, and technology.
The outcome of this residency will be a series of textile/paintings works.
