VILLA FORMOSE
Arthur Francietta, born in 1990 in Martinique, is a multidisciplinary artist and typographer based between Martinique and Paris.
Residency plan
His project ”Kavalan Visual Heritage: Weaving and Insular Graphic Design“ focuses on the craftsmanship and graphic heritage of Taiwan‘s Indigenous people, drawing parallels between Caribbean graphic symbols and Indigenous Taiwanese traditions. This creative process fosters an aesthetic dialogue between materials and sym-bols, reflecting a quest for authenticity and archipelagic memory. Through this approach, Francietta aims to develop a hybrid visual language, where cultural heritage continues to evolve and resonate within contemporary contexts.
